Eset NOD32/Smart Security + Windows XP SP3 + Daemon tool
With this situation
- Eset NOD 32 or Smart Security
- Windows XP SP3
- Daemon tools with STPD Driver
You may suffer freezing just after your PC boot. I don’t know what exactly cause this problem, But I was digging it for some times, and I suggest a solution which works for me.
Reason (Guessd):
ESET installs some driver which is attached with native driver likes disk driver, network adapter driver and so on for threat scanning. I think STPD driver which is given from Daemon-tools is not work correctly with eset driver.
The Solution:
1. If you can boot up your OS successfully sometimes.
- Update your STPD Driver which is used for Daemon-tools.
2. If you can’t boot successsfully at all times.
- Boot with safe mode.
- Uninstall Daemon-tools
- Uninstall STPD Driver
